Course Description

This course builds on Tajweed Level 1 – Foundations of Tajweed; strengthening your skills and inspiring confidence as you learn new tajweed rules and improve your recitation, helping you see your progress clearly.

Duration:
10 weeks (30 hours in total), 3 hours each lesson

Level: Level 2

Status: Compulsory for all students who wish to learn how to recite the Qur’an correctly.

Prerequisites: The ability to read Arabic and the study of Tajweed Level 1 – Foundations of Tajweed, or its equivalent.

Progression: Tajweed Level 3 – Mastering Qur’an Recitation

Course Plan

1. Theory: Rules of Nun Sakina and Tanween
   Practice: Examples in the pack and also within the class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-Humazah
2. Theory: Rules of Nun Sakina and Tanween continued
   Practice: Examples in the pack and also within the class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-‘Asr and at-Takathur
3. Theory: Rules of Nun Sakina and Tanween continued
   Practice: Examples in the pack and also within the class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-Qari’ah
4. Theory: Rules of Meem Sakina
   Practice: Examples in the pack and also within the class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-‘Adiyat
5. Theory: Mudud: Part 1
   Practice: Examples in the pack and also within the class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-Zalzalah
6. Theory: Mudud: Part 2
   Practice: Examples in the pack and also within the class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-Bayyinah Pt 1
7. Theory: Mudud: Part 3
   Practice: Implementation of all rules covered so far within class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-Bayyinah Pt 2
8. Theory: Revision of theory covered so far
   Practice: Implementation of all rules covered so far within class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-Qadr
9. Theory: Revision of theory covered so far
   Practice: Implementation of all rules covered so far within class recitation for that week
   Memorisation: Surah al-Alaq Pt 1
10. Theory: Revision of theory covered so far
    Practice: Implementation of all rules covered so far within class recitation for that week
    Memorisation: Surah al-Alaq Pt 2
11. Theory: Revision of all rules
    Practice: Implementation of all rules Memorisation: Revision
12. Assessment

Assessment
Students will be assessed at the end of the course.

This course is available either on campus or online. When registering, please select your preferred option or platform, as both may not be offered each term simultaneously.
