Qur’an Intensive

In this course, you will learn:

• Key stories, messages and lessons of the Qur’an
• Summary and overview of all 30 Juz
• Personal development lessons from the Qur’an
• How to benefit from the Qur’an in your daily life

Course content and overview:

• The course will give you a clear overview of the structure, themes, and guidance within each of the 30 Juz of the Qur’an, fostering a sense of accomplishment.
• In particular, we will be looking at how Surah names are related to each Surah and the historical contexts of their revelation
• Some of the inter-textual relationships and coherence between verses of each Surah and the relationship with preceding/following Surahs;
• Cross-referencing to other parts of the Qur’an to demonstrate how the “Qur’an explains the Qur’an”;
• Explanation of key passages in each chapter; practical guidance and lessons that can be derived from each Surah.
• We will also be discussing some of the linguistic and stylistic devices used in the Qur’an, and some of the problems with translation and having alternative plausible interpretations.

Duration

Students can choose to sign up for:

• The 1 year course (30 weeks); or
• Separately for Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3

Please note that you must sign up for Terms 1, 2, and 3 to complete the entire Qur’an. Each term aims to cover 10 Juz. Students can choose to join 1, 2 or all 3 terms. For further information, please contact admin@ebrahimcollege.org.uk.

Terms

• Term 1 (starts in September/October) – 10 weeks
• Term 2 (starts in January) – 10 weeks
• Term 3 (starts in May) – 10 weeks

No prior learning or knowledge required

Course Resources

All students will receive the relevant course details and materials 5 days before the course starts. This will include:

• Zoom meeting details (for online courses)
• Pdf versions of the course materials/notes by email
• Link to Google Drive to access course notes and recordings (if applicable)
• Link to Google Classroom to interact with teachers, receive additional course material and information (if applicable).
• Link to Telegram group to interact with teachers, receive additional support (if applicable).

Please note:

• Printed copies of your course materials are available to collect from the college office on request.
• If you would like a printed copy to be posted to your address, you will need to place an order via our website https://ebrahimcollege.com/product/course-material/. Once purchased, course materials will be dispatched to you 5 days before your course starts.
