Ebrahim College was established in 2003 as a Darul Uloom-style seminary adapted to the needs and context of the modern world. Its founding vision was to preserve the rigour, depth and scholarly credibility of the traditional Darul Uloom tradition, while integrating, where beneficial, the strengths of contemporary curriculum development, pedagogy, technology and academic research. This approach continues to shape the College’s educational philosophy, ensuring that traditional Islamic scholarship is taught with relevance to the needs and realities of contemporary society.

Ebrahim College is now based in the heart of Stratford, just minutes from Stratford Station, serving seekers of knowledge across London and the wider UK Muslim community. With a permanent campus secured through a long-term lease, the College now has a stable foundation for continued growth, development and service.

Our ethos is an expression of our character – it is a statement of who we are and therefore the lens through which we assess all we do. The work of Ebrahim College is motivated and inspired by the life, message and example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Our Programmes and Educational Provision

• The ‘Alimiyyah Programme: A four-year, contextualised and multidisciplinary undergraduate-level programme encompassing Arabic, Shari‘ah, Theology and a broad range of humanities disciplines.
• The Dawrah al-Hadith Programme: A one-year, postgraduate-level programme providing an intensive and specialised study of Hadith within the traditional seminary framework.
• Islamic Research: A dedicated development programme for seminary graduates and Imams, alongside the Centre for Islamic Research (CIRE), which supports and facilitates scholarly research into Islam and the Islamic intellectual tradition.
• Adult and Community Education: The College offers up to 30 courses each term for adults of all ages, addressing a comprehensive range of subjects relating to Islam and Muslim life. Courses are delivered through a flexible range of formats, including on-campus teaching, online learning and outreach-based weekend intensive programmes.
